IPI (Internships Perth International) was established in 2009 and was originally operating as part of a travel agency.
In 2015 IPI was created to expand the services internationally as a placement agency for international students seeking professional work experience in Perth, Western Australia.
Throughout this time we have maintained the relationship to the leading Australian organizations, government departments and other institutions to supply our international students with work experience programs tailored to the specific academic background and area of interest.
We ensure that every internship placement is a beneficial experience for the intern as well as the internship host company and that there is in exchange of cultural and professional experience.
We work together with international universities and ensure all requirements of mandatory internships are met and assist with projects like writing a master thesis.
Many students have benefited from an internship in Perth and have returned to their home country with improved English language skills as well as professional experience which had a major impact on their career development.
Sandra Beck took over the internship placement agency in 2009 as part of her travel business but seperated it from the travel business and formed IPI in 2015 to separate it and allow it to grow further.
Sandra has started her career in the travel industry in Germany and continued her career in the USA for several years and held different management positions at tour operators, conference centers and international tradeshow companies.
After moving to Australia in 2009 she got involved in the internship area and made it part of her travel business catering mostly for german Interns.
In 2015 IPI became more international and is now accepting applications from all nationalities who are part of the work & holiday scheme.
Due to being a former exchange student herself in the US and her career in 3 different countries she can relate to the international students and their career goals and hunger for international experience.
In a world which is more economically connected than ever before and an exchange of international experience and professional and cultural skillsets is crucial.
“It gives me an enormous amount of satisfaction when I see how successful a placement has been and how it positively influenced the student in so many ways providing not just “work experience”
but an experience for life which will never be forgotten and have a major impact in their career.”
